Recently my neighbour changed my tyre so that I didn't have to pay the AA man lots of money to come round and do it. I was at a loss to even work out the jack, and it was pouring with rain. He had it fixed in a jiffy. Naturally such random acts of kindness need to be thanked. So this was the card I made him to go with the bottle of wine.

I am writing this from chilly Chile, where I am spending an extra few days before I return home.
I am not sure how many of you have seen the free catalogue that is currently appearing with some of the issues of Crafts Beautiful, but hurry hurry hurry and buy buy buy.

I am not sure how June managed to rush away so quickly- perhaps because with the eratic weather we've had it's felt more like April.

Summer By The Sea

I love this set-Summer By the sea- I do like to be beside the seaside- I do love to be beside the sea, and these days when I can't be there, this stamp set is the next best thing.
The Seeing Spots set is a stamped in Ballet Blue and So Saffron, and a few spots are in a mix of the two inks.
Whisper White cardstock and Earth Tones
Inks=Stazon-Black, Essential Black, Ballet Blue and So Saffron, the scene is coloured using SU! pastels
Scallop Punch and Hodge Podge Hardware complete the card.

DIY and Crafting

Who says you can't combine hobbies? I bought these tiles and some matt fixative when I went with my husband to the DIY shop, I recognised the need to buy unglazed tiles, glazed will never dry!
The stamp set is Summer by the Sea p48 of the current Catalogue, and I am very fond of it. A few friends might spot who this boy reminds me of.
Anyway the image was stamped on using Black Stazon-P82, and coloured using the pastels again P82.
This is part of a set of coasters, some self adhesive foam pads give this cushion, and the matt spray protects the image from spills.

Keeping it Simple to Start

People are overwhelmed when they first see SU, all those great stamp sets, all of those co-ordinating supplies. Where do I start, what do I buy, how do I begin?
Well here is a card to get you going;

Ingredients;
1 SU Scallop Punch
1 SU 1/4 inch circle punch
colour of SU Ink-Pink Passion-Bold Brights

1 sheet A4 SU Whisper White

1 Set of Stamps-Polka dots and Paisley

Dimensionals
SU Glue Mouse
SU Stampamajig-(just about optional!)

First of all cut a 5"x5" card blank, from your A4 sheet, essentially you cut a strip 10"x5" and fold it in half length ways.

With the left over scrap, cover it in the background stamp in the set- this set is very versatile and it's great having a background stamp in it.
Now cut some of this scrap into 4 inch long thin strips, you'll need 8 of them.
Keeping the dimensional in its sheet, peel off the top protector to expose the stick
Now bend these strips, but don't fold them, attach them to the sticky side of the dimensional, what I found was that I fitted six on, then I needed to use the glue mouse (another SU essential) to stick the remaining ones over the top.
I trimmed the second dimensional, stuck it over the top to hold every thing down, I then punched a 1/4" circle from the A4 pre-stamped scraps and put it on the top of the flower.

I took 2 more thin scraps of pre-stamped card, and stamped the back. I folded these at an angle and used the glue mouse, to stick them along the side of the card.

Finally I cut a 5"x1.5" scrap of pre-stamped scrap card along the bottom, using leftovers I punched a scallop, and inked the edges, then I stamped "happy" from the set- I used my Stampamajig for the placement. I finished the card off by using some dimensionals to stick this down.
